Obituary for Frank "Jim" James Schrier

Frank J. “Jim” Schrier, 86 of Hudson died Wednesday, April 19 at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born September 28, 1930 in Waterloo son of Joseph and Kathryn Griffin Schrier. He married Joanne Jacobs July 23, 1952 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Blessing, rural Hudson.

Jim farmed in Hudson and Traer until his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

Jim was baptized, confirmed and married at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Blessing, rural Hudson.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deb (Dave) Murray of Hudson and Pat (Dana) Webber of Nokomis, Fla.; three grandchildren, Lisa (Sterling) Simonson, Tami (Chris) Langham and Jesse (Katie) Rhoades; 4 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Farkas of Anchorage, Alaska and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Schrier.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Eagle Center with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Blessing, rural Hudson, where full military rites will be conducted by Kubik-Finch American Legion Post 142 and the US Marine Corps Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 5 pm rosary. Visitation will continue for an hour before services at the church on Saturday.
