Obituary for Mary Ann Simmons

Mary Ann Simmons 80, of Waterloo died Sunday, January 28, At Unity Point Health-Allen Hospital.

She was born October 26, 1937 in Bremer County, the daughter of Ralph and Ida Mae Christopherson Dailey. She married Darwin Simmons January 28, 1989.

Mary Ann started “Mary Ann’s Poodle Grooming” in 1969.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Harold (Nola) Roeding of Dunkerton; a stepson Lyle (Helena) Simmons of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Marilyn (Gerald) Rubino of Mead, Okla. and Marlene (David) Wickenkamp of Shellsburg; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy (Ami) Roeding, colleen (James) Martindale, Erik Webber, Laura (Russell) Eberlin, and Andy Cooley; 10 great-grandchildren, Lexi, Hannah, James, Joseph, Julieann, Ireland, Teagan, Seth, Ryan, Maren; two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Dylan Simmons.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Glen and Robert Eugene Daily; and a sister, Bernice Bergmeier

Services will be 1:00 Wednesday January 31, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Bristow, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
