Obituary for Walter Jackson

Walter Jackson, Jr., born January 22, 1955, in Chicago, IL to the late Walter Jackson, Sr. and Violet Lavern Jackson. Lived in Mississippi with Grandparents, Sam and Bessie Jackson in 1970. Then in Sikeston, MO in 1972. Graduating from Sikeston Senior HS in 1973. In Chicago, IL he met Jonnie B. Holmes in ‘78, dating until ‘93. They married August 28, 1993.

Bishop Noah, Leader & Founder of Peter’s Rock Coptic Temple transitioned Friday, September 15, 2017 at Unity Point Hospital.

He travelled as a member of gospel groups like Stars of Jerusalem, Doc & The Heavenly Band, and performed on Chicago’s Gospel TV Broadcasts. He worked various Security Guard jobs & Shuttle Driver in Chicago, IL.

Walter is survived by: his wife, ten daughters Regina Bruce (Trevell Sr.), Keyale Miller, Christiara Deese, Jessica Miller, Tonja R. Holmes, Erica Torres, Dennisha Hicks all of Iowa; Tiffini Jenkins, Miracle Jackson, and Safari “Fe Fe” Miller all of Illinois; two sons Deondre Banks and Marcus Spies both of Illinois; twenty-four grandchildren; three brothers Charles Ray Jackson (Henrietta) of Houston, TX; Larry Dean Jackson (Juanita) and Vernell Jackson (Quanika) both of Illinois; two precious sisters Katrina Annette Jackson-McDonald (D’Andrea), Gloria Jackson-Ghalayini (John) both of Illinois; a host of special Nieces & Nephews; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, adopted
Family and Friends.

Preceded in death by: his devoted father Walter Jackson, Sr., his beloved mother Violet Jackson; his paternal Grandparents Sam & Bessie Jackson; his precious sister Pamela Jackson-Henry, his son Willie L. Holmes, and his beloved grandson Jeremiah Banks.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23 at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Waterloo. Visitation will be one hour before services. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is assisting the family.
