Obituary for Carolyn Jean Bentley-Tollefson

Carolyn Jean Bentley-Tollefson, 63, of Waterloo, died Friday, September 21, at Ravenwood Specialty Care.

She was born February 17, 1955, in Tallahatchie, Miss, the daughter of Tillman Bentley and Emma Brantley Atwood. She married Bruce Tollefson in 2000 in Waterloo and they later divorced.

Carolyn attended the University of Northern Iowa and was employed at Tyson as a cook in the cafeteria.

Survivors include: her son, Jesse James Jones Jr. of Waterloo; her daughter, Chantell Bentley of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenny (Liz) Bentley of Waterloo, Timothy (JoAnn) Bentley of Cedar Rapids, and Jesse (Debbie) Bentley of Waterloo; two sisters, Joyce (Reece) Gardner of Waterloo and Annie Bentley Butler of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her daughter, Channel Jones and her brother, Richard Bentley.
Memorial Service: 5 p.m. Thursday, September 27, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Public visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
